The following General Collections stacks areas are open to readers and fellows:
- Central Basement
- Central Hallway
- North Hallway
- North Wing (Second and Third Floors only)
- Rothenberg Balcony
Materials from open areas can be retrieved directly from the self and must be checked out at the self-checkout kiosk in the Donno Lounge.
The following stacks areas are closed to readers and fellows:
- East Basement
- North Wing Basement
- South Basement
Request general collections materials in closed stacks areas through My Library. Instructions for setting up an account and requesting materials can be found in the My Library guide.
- Materials are retrieved twice daily: 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. Requests submitted after 1:00 pm will be retrieved the following day. No materials are retrieved on Saturdays.
- Requested materials are delivered to either the Holds shelf or your assigned shelf in the General Collections Reading Room. Find your materials on the Holds shelf by looking for the bookmark with the last four digits of your library card number.
- Requests from Long-term fellows are delivered to the Holds shelf in the Munger office area or Mahogany Row.

Be advised: The General Collections Reading Room and stacks are closed on Saturdays to readers, fellows, and staff. General collections materials on hold are unavailable on Saturdays.
