Researchers directly descended from persons in our collections may find some material of interest. To find out if relevant documents exist, please send us your question, including the full names of the ancestor(s) and any related persons identified in our collections.

For individuals with local ancestry, the Los Angeles Area Court Records (LAACR) may hold relevant information. Visit our Los Angeles Area Court Records research guide for more details.

Current readers have access to the library edition of Ancestry.com (on-site access only) and Newspapers.com through their My Library account.

A useful tool for Native genealogists is the Early California Population Project (ECPP), a database containing baptism, marriage, and burial records derived from California mission registers from 1769-1850. Instructions for how to use and access the database are on the ECPP homepage.
